Help with tire sizes plz.....

Just wanting to know how tall in inches the stock tires are, as well as how tall a 285/70/17 is, and how tall a 315/70/17 is? Thanks for amy help.

check tire spec on manufacturer's Web site

Tire makers like Goodyear have common tire specs listed on their Web site. Search the tire size.

285s are about 33", 315s are about 35"



Both are narrower than a comparable flotation size like 35x12. 5r17

(((285/25. 4)x2)x0. 7)+17= rule of thumb height of 285/70-17. Going to the web site of who makes the tire will give you the real diameter (listed under specs). The real height varies due to the wheel width its mounted on and who makes it. A bfg mud and a goodyear mtr for example are different heights when comparing equal sizes.

All actual overall diameters are effected by rims width, tire sidewall strength, tire inflation pressure and of course the load.
