Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Help with TQ and HP

Alright so I am currently in the market for a 94-98. 5 cummins I am wondering what am I looking at performance wise. what can halp me gain in the areas of TQ and HP and what kind of costs am I looking at!! my friend had a 94 and he did injectors, exhaust and intake are those some of the main things. is there anyway to acheive more then 400hp with these motors. just curious new to the diesel spectrum!! Oo.



Would I be better off going with an 98. 5-2003. I have not a ton of money to spend I am in the military after all I just want some power!! and the only thing I will ever own is a cummins!!

Welcome! The Diesel #2 Record was set using a 12 Valve Motor (Richard Madsen) I think it was like 860 something. These motors will VERY easily make over 400 HP. - Buck

I'm nosing 400hp with my setup. Have less $$$$ in it, than a full Banks PowerPack, and more power. (Doesn't include the cost of the transmission, though. ) Still need a 3k GSK and to get the new turbo on, once it gets here.

From what ive read. A 96/97 truck #10 plate,4" exhaust, 370 injectors, = 450RWHP

#10 full forward 411 rwhp. And 360 RWHP in stock position.

200. 00 plate. I think 400. 00 for a" exhaust, 1000. 00 min for a turbo, 370s 400. 00 ? And 900. 00 for a So bend clutch
