Where did the smell go?

Stack Mufflers

New to the forum here. I installed a Westach fp gauge over the weekend along with a EGT, boost, and transmission temp gauge. I noticed after the install that my fuel pressure was low, and thought that it was luck I installed them when I did. I took the truck to the dealer to have the lift pump and fuel pump checked to make sure they were ok. The master tech at the dealer put their manual gauge on and the fuel pressure tested right on the money. I used the hose that attached to the schrader valve on the fuel pump to install my gauge. My question is, how tight should this hose fitting be, and if it were loose, could that have caused my gauge to read low. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I don't have it in front of me but as I recall, the instructions called for something like one turn after the plastic seal contacted the fitting... in other words, not too tight. Re-check the instructions that came with the hose from Geno's. My pressure seemed a little low when I installed mine a few weeks ago so I had the fuel filter changed and it came up a couple pounds. There's a RASP in my future so I'm sweating my lift pump until then.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I first had it finger tight and then one half turn to snug it. I noticed that is worked itself loose and almost fell off. I tried snugging it up a little more and that seemed to help a little bit. Looks like on my gauge it reads about 11psi at idle, but on a manual gauge it reads about 13. 5psi. I guess my gauge or sender is just a little off.
