Help knocking sound when hot???

Only does it when engine is hot at regular temp 190 when cold sounds fine!!!

 My truck after about 4k on the fuel filter starts knocking or raping at idle in drive or reverse with foot on brake. Truck only has 40k on it. I was changing fuel filter every 10k-12k or so since new. Then I had to change it at 37k with 5k on that filter becuase it sounded terrible knocking changed filter all was ok and now with 3. 5k the sound is back. I always by the fuel from the same place accept when traveling which I havn't done since the last change out. I use power service every tank and I use the appropriate filter from genos. Do you guys think that this is from the new fuel? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Or could it possibly be a pump getting weak? I am afrade to take it to the dealer since everyone appears to be getting a runaround from the dealers. By the way truck is completely stock and has alway been the only add ons are gauges.

Any input is appreciated!

that's a new one for me.

with no mods, you should have no problem with the dealer. i have a couple ideas that are so simple i'm afraid to insult your intelligence (water in your tank/dirty fuel in your area and mabey even a bad injector) plus, i'm not exactly an expert on the 3rd gens yet. seems like the few bugs the 3rg gens have seem to take out the motor in a big way if you don't correct them quickly.

so, i recommend you start the paper trail with the dealership... . make em deal with it.

if nothing else i got your post back to the top.

good luck, jeff
