Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Help

[Beach Bomb]

My truck won't shift into reverse without forcing it. Likewise with other gears. Is it the clutch or the transmission? Thanks, Andy

It sounds like when you push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, it's still not quite releasing the clutch. I'm guessing your master or slave cylinder for the clutch has a leak and/or some air in it.

I'm not sure but I think that first gear and reverse are on the same shaft in the transmission. Hence, if it shifts fine in first it should shift fine in reverse. Not sure of that tho. Any of you knowledgeable transmission people know. If no one answers, get a hold of Steve St Laruant(sp). He is quite knowledgeable on transmissions. Hope this helps.
