Ok got my head back on my truck but now I need to remove the engine oil from the coolant. The problem is I don't remember what Piers said to use to do this..... . For some reason I thought it was calgon dishwasher soap but I can't find any calgon dishwasher soap only calgon spa bath treatment. What do you guys recommend? I have a ton of oil to remove to it will take a couple flushes to get it all cleared.

The dishwashing detergent works well and it is all I have ever used. Any good grease cutting solvent/soap should work well though. If it were me I think I would give simple green a shot.

No Suds

Hey Doug, the brand doesn't matter, just make sure it is dishwasher detergent [designed for no suds], or a NO Suds laundry detergent.



The suds causes problems with our cooling systems, I have personal experience with using the wrong type of detergent. It takes forever to rinse the sudsing agent out of the system.



Don't make your truck foam at the cap!! [radiator cap]

Nix on the Simple Green. It will pit aluminum and would not be good for the radiator. My boat has a polished aluminum center to the steering wheel. My seven year old likes to help clean the boat. She Simple Greened the wheel area and now there are pit spots in the polished aluminum. I can fix it with metal polish, but just thought you might want to know. No, I didn't fuss at her.

Simple green will also wash the shine right off a new dirt bike Leaves the plastic all dull looking.



But then I discovered floor wax puts the shine back on

The Coast Guard boat fixers here in Savannah are the one's that warned me about Simple Green and aluminum. Otherwise, I would have not figured out what happened to my boat. That's a good tip on the 4-wheelers.
