Hi guys,

My truck has been cutting out yesterday and today. Starts fine, runs fine until I punch it. Seems to me "missing" at maybe 2800 RPM?! As we were just on evacuation alert due to the big fire here, I just don't need this right now. Of course, it doesn't seem to do it every time. I pulled the OBDII codes and got a P 1693 and P 0230. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help as always.

Dave

ps. I don't have gauges yet, and the truck is bone stock.

Help

0230 pertains to the lift pump circuit, 1693 is DTC detected in ECM???? I would check to see if the lift pump is working also could be the fuel filter plugging. bg

the P 1693 code was preceded by P PCU, so I assume this is a Power train control module code, not an engine control module (ECM) code. I think the P 1693 just means a code is set in the ECM? I bumped the engine and can hear the lift pump running, but without any fuel pressure gauges, I don't know if its doing its thing. A clogged filter would be a good thing right about now!!!

Thanks very much for your reply.

Dave

Got the truck back from the dealer this afternoon. They replaced the lift pump, so I guess I get added to the long list of lift pump failures. Funny thing is, I insisted that they check the pump about 6 months ago and it was fine. Time to install a fuel pressure gauge.
