Ice Fishing - funny Story

I've got a funny story... Last night around eleven, a girl I've kinda been seeing calls me up and says I'm on my way to pick you up, dad's truck won't shift out of park.....

Anyway, she picks me up and I get filled in on the situation. Seems that the ABS system (which had just been worked on) has failed again and her dad was stuck at a gas station where he had stopped to fillup. He got back in to leave, and the abs light came on and wouldn't shift out of park... .

We arrive on the scene and tempers are flaring, blame is being thrown around... . I'm mentally laughing my arse off at them... Was quite the display of family togetherness... .

I say hello and get down to business of checking the truck out. Checked both power dist. boxes and they seemed fine, checked the wire connections from the engine compartment down to the transmission and they seemed fine. Then I crawled under the dash and started feeling with my fingers to find that magic little lever that was keeping the shifter knob from working properly. They had already given up on the truck and were ready to call a tow truck. After about 10 minutes of fiddling with this and that, I happen across the luck bit and flip it, viola, the trucks now out of park and can be driven home.

That is one instance that a standard would have gotten you home.....

Just thought I would pass along my interesting evening, sorry Chat freaks for missing last night... but I was in better company... .

Cheers,

Morph.

:) Morph, The best thing in my "Book" is that you helped someone with a problem... no matter what they drive. GOOD MAN!!! Chris

not only that but he scored a massive amount of points with the girl he has been kinda seeing.....

Nice work Morph. Yet another Found on road dead story. I was hoping more for a "I had to tow the ford home" story, but this is good. And the points added up quick on the gal I'm sure.

well, I wouldn't have been able to pull the ford home at this moment as I blew the center section out of my clutch last weekend... . I've been hoofing it myself for the last week.

Hmmmmm maybe if you had a auto you would still be driveing it around... LOL:-laf

just kidding.

Points scored

And you probably scored a few points with Dad which could come in handy if you and the gal become more serious. ;)

If I'd a had an auto... it would have been trashed long ago. I occasionally pull loads in upwards of 30,000 lbs... pull people out all the time from sticky situations, etc and just generally beat the hell out of the drivetrain... . I'm not complaining that much about the clutch going out... I knew it was time to replace it, just needed to wait a few more weeks was all.....

Nope, I checked the fuses off the bat, could not find a blown fuse on the truck, second I check wire connections... . everything appeared ok. They haven't taken the truck to the shop yet, so I'm not sure what really was wrong with it, I just helped them get it home without having to call a tow truck.
