I had a friend at work ask me if I had the new "Hemi Diesel". It doesn't bother me when the layman does this. Remember: you are the only one who cares about your vehicle.

It does bother me when other "diesel" people say uneducated things and then stalwartly refuse to accept that they are wrong about anything.

Get the same stuff all the time. Is it a V10 or hemi?

Bought a T-shirt saying

"How many times do I have to flush before you go away"

and

"I don't know what you do to be so dumb, but it really works"

Get the statements just point to the shirt

"How about a T-shirt with a picture of a spark plug with a circle around it and a line thru it?"

ASK and ye shall receive - how's this Ken? :D :D :D

I have ya beat. A lady here at work was out smoking and looking at my truck. When I came out she asked why if I had the money for the accesories why didn't I pay the extra to get the Hemi powered truck.

Note that there are 3 Hemis in the lot right by my truck. I just chuckled and said they didn't pay me enough for that, I could only afford a 6 cylinder. She looked really funny at me and said "it only have a 6 cylinder???". I just said yep and jumped in.

Dang, now I have this urge to get a Hemi emblem and stack it with my "C" emblem. You guys have got to control yourselves. LOL

There is one thing in common between the Hemi and the Cummins, they now get about the same mileage. Particularly interesting since I just got the cummins newsletter. Read the part about the fuel economy. LIARS!

Well I went to my local station where I fuel up. They had apparently ran out of gas. I go in and ask:

"Hey, you guys ran out of gas?"

It was meant as a rhetorical question, guy says yes, so I ask, well, do you have any diesel. Guy says yes they do, I get my wallet out to pay and he goes:

"Your truck can use both gas and diesel?"

... . good lord...

There is an article in Fourwheeler about this same type of topic. One editor sitting around eating dinner with all these high end doctors he has no clue what is going on in the conversation and falls into a coma. One doctor asks him about his jeep and just rattles things off like it has dana 44's lockers and its lifted and running 33's The doctors give him the look of being in a coma. Some people just don't understand that we could possible love our trucks this much!!!

It is stories like these that may you realize how one sided DC's advertising is. I reallize that the Cummins sells itself, but come on DC. You are making people look stupid.

ads

TboneMan,

I don't think the 2 clowns in the hemi ads are all the bright. I think they have opted for stupid funny role.

They really do need to make some ads people will talk about for the cummins. The 2 clowns are memorable, and do make people talk, so it worked.

I guess the way they look at it is that they can't keep up with demand now, why spend the $ on advertising.

I had a guy at work racing me in a Mini Cooper on the service road by the highway. Looked pretty funny I'm sure because his car will fit in the bed of my truck if it were just a little narrower. We pull in the parking lot and he says "Damn, those Hemis are fast, but you can't out-corner me". I looked at him kind of funny and said "Hemi, hell, that's a 6 cyl". The look on his face was priceless.

I'm not complaining, I average about 19. 5 MPG on winter diesel and about 21 MPG on summer diesel. My old 1500 with a 360 never saw better than 18 MPG. Not bad for a one ton truck if you ask me.
