Happy Birthday Tom(BriarHopper)

Dump Truck oops....

Son in law asked what hemi meant and I was stuck for an answer. I am thinking it has something to do with the combustion chamber shape but I am not sure. Will some expert clue me in?

Thanks, Tom

and every hemisphericial compustion chamber I have seen has the spark plug in the center, between the intake and exhaust valves. So a hemi has the spark plugs installed in the center of the valve covers.

Tom you hit the nail on the head. The combustion chamber is shaped HEMIsphereical. Or HEMI.

I read somewhere that you can get the OMNI with the HEMI !

Is it really so ?????

It's available in the NEON, but it a little tough to get repairs covered under warranty. ;)

And the gas milage is pretty poor. :-laf

Yeah the old 2. 2L 4 cylinder was a hemi head but I don't think Dodge advertised it much as it would have detracted from the "real" hemi's 340,426
