Thinking about putting on a set of 315:75R16 Hercules tires. Ran 285:75R16's in the past and wore them out. The 285's were 33" tall and the 315's would be 35" tall. There is lots of room in wells for this size, just wondered if anyone has run Hercules tires before and could comment on wear, noise level etc?

Looking at your signature, I have a question: Where did you get a 2001 W250??

Anyway, I've got an '01 2500 and used to run 285s on it with factory aluminum wheels, but found that they would just barely rub the lower link arms for the front axle if I turned hard over to either side. As a rule the 01's will run the larger tires you are looking at IF you have the front end lifted. At stock height, those 315s will definitely hit the lower links.

As for the Hercules tires, I can't offer any advice. Haven't run them.

Had 265-75-16 Hercs on my half ton when I first got it. They wore pretty well but were noisy. They're about worn out now. If I found them locally I would have replaced with same but switched to Toyo OpenCountry AT on M/T Classic IIs. They are much quieter but probably more $$.

Way back when I had to order a few parts for my 91 CTD, models were D250(2wd) and W250(4wd). Both my trucks are 4x4 and I just refer to them as W250's, easier than script 4x4. That the story there. Bryan
