It's fine if you want a thin coat liner, but it'll never stand up to a professionally sprayed in liner. I used it on my Jeep on bumpers and rock rails and was very happy with it, but I'd never put it in the bed of a truck. I want something with a thicker coat in the truck bed.
Have a neighbor who used it for floor pans and rear cargo area in a mid 1970 Bronco. Followed directions etc. We thought it looked BAD>It covered etc. but was nothing like the spray in by a pro. He ended up covering it with rubber matting like in a truck that comes without carpet. Made a good base/sound deadener etc but the way it looked would never but it in a nice truck bed. Old work truck etc. Yes. But not in a new high dollar truck. Get a pro job!
If it were me, I wouldn't mess around with that big brand new expensive truck and cut corners like that. You'll be MUCH happier with a Line-X (my personal choice) or other type of professionally installed product.
I agree with everyone so far - I had it professionally done and am very happy with the results! Plus the Hurculiner isn't nearly as thick and durable as some of the professional coatings.
I can't believe I'm not the only one who thought of that old RAMJAW (or was it rec. autos. 4x4?) thread! Too bad I haven't had time for the newsgoups for such a long time.
Nah, the original thread was on a Ford Explorer board - the moderator asked the simple question "How do I get Herculiner off my hootus?" - mass hilarity ensued. More reason to get it done professionally - you can make a real mess out of yourself if you don't get it off your skin really quick! Here's the original link:
