Having driven a Ford with the tow mirrors, I like several features about their design.
1. They can be extended for tow usage, but more importantly retracted so that the truck is standard width. In WV, the roads are narrow and twisting. Many a mailbox or other drivers side mirror gets smacked on back roads. Even the drive thru at my bank with standard 6X9 mirrors I only have 2 inches of clearance on each side. If I had the Dodge tow mirrors, I could not go through the drive thru.
2. They have excellent visibility both for what is beside you via the top mirror and for where your rear tires are via the lower convex mirror.
3. Turn signal in the mirror. More safety is always a good thing. Too many drivers talking too much on cell phones and not paying attention. My 2001 was red. You might think it would be impossible to miss something that large and red, but some guy yaking on a cell in an expedition almost side swiped me. Peripheral vision picked him up and I laid on the horn and pulled onto the shoulder before he pulled back in his lane.
Wish those features where available on a stock mirror from Dodge.
Eric - great looking mirrors. Brand? Installation time & difficulties? Cost?
