Good move on the supplemental side airbags. Even in a big truck you need all the protection you can get. I neglected to order them in mine.

Eek

Good Lord... nearly $42,000 for a truck    That's about what I make in 2 years.

No thanks!

You got that right! EEK! Double the price of my first nice house. The way I figure it is; If you got the long term easy payment plan and don't live too long this CTD will still be in good condition for those family members who out live you.

Yea, prices are a real kick. I just bought another VW TDI. The sticker on it was $27,200. I think I paid $1,349. 00 for my first new car, a 1969 VW Beatle. Not worth worrying about. That's what I told myself the other day when I saw 37 percent of my state/local tax dollars go to education and the new school chief wants a big increase. Poor kids these days. I don't have any, but I'll make my investment in their future if they agree to pay more into social security to keep the system sound so when I can't work I can sit back and watch how the next generation runs the world.

Don't count on it ... Social Security will be bankrupt soon (and it is stolen $$$, anyone accepting it is receiving stolen goods). The next gen, will run the country into the ground. /hijack off/

Back to the post at hand ... yes, these trucks are outragously priced. It will be a lot less expensive to keep puting parts into our older trucks then even consider $50000 for these new ones.

I was thinking of trading mine in for something a bit newer, but there's no way I'd be able to afford it!

When I shop for a car, payment can't be more than $350-400/month on a 4 year loan.

Like everything else the price of trucks increase every year. As an FYI my 2006 2500 stickered at $51K. I will admit that I did order a loaded truck. Using my company buying plan the selling price was 5% below invoice. But that still presented me with a pretty stiff purchase price of approx $44K. Adding in the purchase of a $40K 5th and I'm now forced to reside in the poor house. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Poor House

Yes, the price of my 2007 CTD, which will meet emissions standards for awhile, is costly. If you think the price of goods and services are high now take a look up the road five years. Also, you may not be able to barrow money because the interests rates could be out of sight. I do remember, Oh how clearly I remember, the President Jimmy Carter, years of fiscal chaos.

All of us working men make choices and priorities where we must, need, or if we are lucky, want to spend our little pile of earned income. Like some, over the years, I have extended the process of this learning curve. Historically, vehicles haven’t been at the top of my priority list. Unless it was a working truck.

Like you Jerry, a truck and trailer could lead me close to the poor house. Would you PM me about your Artic Fox. If we have chosen to be in the poor house at least we can move it around.

If you can’t have fun don’t do it.

Hey, Mel did they say when you will get the truck? I ordered one similar to yours on 12-19 and I got word yesterday that it is going through inspections before getting put on a truck for shipping by the end of next week (2 to 3 weeks for shipping). Let me know what they told you, thanks.

Mel just curious what pkg you ordered because don't know what 2FP pkg is. Is it a quad cab ,CC or mega cab 3500 SLT or Laramie. Also the rebates he gave you of $3500 are only good till 1/31/07. There is a extra $500 dealer coupons this months that expires on 1-31-07 and do not have sold order protection. So the sold order protection is only the $3000 rebate. Or are you a farm bureau member, that would explain the exta $500 in rebates.

Real....

95 Dodge 3500 200,000 miles- $8500

New rebuilt engine with all the goodies 500Hp- $10,000

New paint, seats, steering, and tires-$6000

total $24500

Proven-priceless!

Numbers don't add up

Mel, those MSRP numbers don't add up. The discrepancy is the bucket seats. If you have the bench seat, the MSRP is $50795 like you stated. When you add the bucket seats the MSRP is $51285. When you and I talked the bucket seats were important to you so I don't want you disappointed if the order comes in wrong.

I also don't want folks on here to get the wrong information so to be clear: the truck you are discussing would have an MSRP of $51285.

Hopefully they will still honor the price even though the buckets were obviously not included... .....

Everyone has to choose who to do business with on many factors. Sometimes price is the only thing that matters and sometimes making sure the order is correct and there are no surprises is important, too.

Tried to leave you a PM. Your PM basket is full and won't accept new PM.

You can call Adam Macumber, Dishman Dodge, 1-877-568-3363, Ext. 205; Cell 1-509-475-2480.

Asked him about the difference between Mel Swanson's price and Canadan?

Tried to send you an email but your TDR email is blocked.

Good Luck.
