I took my truck in to have a new short block put in. They did along with cam, lifters, injectors,I did have DD2 in not no more. 5 Star tec also for got to bolt my rear wheel back on before test drive. As he drove out of shop wheel goes flying off truck,Truck drops onto assphalt and grinds to stop. Jacked up parts wheel, center cap, axle ,drum, brake shoes backing plate. All this happend and they didnt, even bother to tell me. The only way I found out was that I drove to my friends shop and put it on the lift. I called autowest dodge of Rosvile to tell them what i found, I got voice mail I called back 5 times to record all of what i had to say!! So on my way to dealer, servise maneger calls me says how sorrie he is ,and told me what happend. :-{} I told him i was going to bring my gun , and go show that 5 star tec what a357 mag will do for ya. But to top it all off he scrached both fenders and put a dent in one. So who nows what I will get wen i go and pic it up. :--)

Accidents like that should be few and far between. But, it is called an accident.

The real crime is them not telling you BEFORE you find out.

Don't make a new crime with that . 357!!!!.

Gun threats hurt all of us- even non-gun owners. I hope Sarah and Chuck and Hillary are reading this.

Tell us who the dealer is so we may choose to stay away.

HWhitaker, It is bad what the 5 star dealer did, but wait till you find out how bad a terroristic threat is. In my opinion you are no better than the 5 star dealer, maybe worse.

I think the gun issue was taken care of in a earlier post.

H W: There is no reason to have a rear wheel off the vehicle to replace an engine. What the ell were they doing back there???? Perverts!!

I was only joking about the 357. Now the rest was no lie,I picked up truck on friday. It sure looked good but drove like a stocker :( thats ok Ill just have to hop it up:D

Hey, look on the brite side. (Warning: parenthesis contain subliminal messages)

At least you got them to work on it instead of just driving it around to "verfiy the problem. " (TRUCK ENVY - MECHANIC PROBABLY BOUGHT THE OTHER BRAND)

Your doing better than I am. (TRUCK ENVY)

Of course it does seem like a boone and a curse. I hadn't considered that they may break more than they fix. (FEARS OF INADEQUACY STEMING FROM TRUCK ENVY)

I'm with the lawyer suggestion. (WHATCH YOUR WALLET)

Depending upon how consumer friendly your state is, you have the opportunity to really nail them to the wall. (KALIFORNIA, ARKANSAS) Most states take a very dim view on intentionally deceiving the consumer. (FRAUD IS BAD)

AUTOWEST = BAD!

just thought I'd throw that in there... . avoid Autowest like the plague. They are a$$holes and will do nothing but screw you. My bad experiences have been Jeep related (haven't had my truck at the dealer), but I can tell you that I won't even talk to those guys anymore, just use them for test drives and waste their time. It's worth the extra 15 minutes to take it to Folsom. At least for Jeeps there's a decent service guy there... talk to Norton.

I agree about Autowest Dodge. I bought a '96 Dodge there and their service stunk!

I've bought three vehicles from Swift Autoworld North and they're an awesome '5 star' dealer.

The owner, Bob Swift, was even selling a new 24V with a BullyDog or some other brand chip Box they put on it , and bragged about how much rubber it would burn.

Anyway, my Dodge truck fell off of their hydraulic lift and damaged the lower panel behind the passenger door. When I picked up my truck it looked perfect. I would never have even known, but then they told me that it fell off and they're body shop fixed it.

I said "why did you tell me, because I would never have known?," but they said: "it's Bob Swift's policy. "

Great to know there's at least one other decent dealer in the area! If anyone else knows of really good dealers in Sac area for warranty stuff, post it!

first of all did they own up to it? and are they fixing at your choice of repair shop, or there own ? if so check out other finished work first. PS tires come off to get the vehicle lower so we don't need a ladder to work on them. ken
