Blower motor
replaced in 2015-BAD.

Good thing, only 3 bolts and 1 plug to be removed from the passenger side floorboard. Would have posted there but the thread is Closed.

Hard to believe the New blower only lasted 3 years.............Disappointed.

Was the replacement an OEM or aftermarket? 3 years is definitely not good. I've changed a few out over the years and none quit in that short of a period.

Blower motors rarely fail. I'd check your Key switch asy in the steering column. I've found that the switch has the full load of the blower motor going through it the switch and the plug connector usually over heats after time and will melt and burn out. It'll happen faster if you use Tilt the wheel a lot.

Replaced original blower after 10 years with
VDO A/C Heater Blower Motor from NAPA.
Lasted about 3 years.
Just
replaced it with
4Seasons/Everco A/C Heater Blower Motor from Autozone.
Based on reviews.
Hope this lasts longer.

In 2015 I replaced the key switch assembly twice.
Apparently the blower motor/fan gets dirty as there is No air filter prior to the fan.
Rotation becomes more and more difficult,
drawing More amps and shorting out the key switch assembly.
Your right about using the Tilt on the steering wheel.
There is barely enough wire length in the harness to make the connection.
When it burns out, there is even less.

Read this in a review of the above fans.

VDO is using bronze impregnated bushings whereas the 4 Seasons is actually using ball bearings.
