The way they are talking on our news and the weather channel, we probably will not be able to buy toilet paper, milk, or bread for the next week around here. Your local news jumping off the deep end like ours is here?

Yes kinda sorta. The real focus here is how the new liberal progressive NYC admin directs the DSNY and DOT. They're talkin 4-6 or 8-12. My hubs are locked.
;)

Who the hell gave the weather channel the right to name storms? Last I knew, the national weather service named hurricanes and nothing else. Do they really need to hype the weather this much. We are do for up to 1ft. Big deal. I'll pay more attention to the weather channel when they can get the 3 day forecast right 3 times in a row.

I'll be delighted if it snows, it might warm up to 10 degrees or so while it is coming down.

-20 here at 7.00 am today.

Mike.

I'd be happy if they got the daily forcast correct 1 day in a row. Of course, the same could be said for our local news.

The 04.5 is our dedicated plow truck this point. We've had the plow and spreader on it since the beginning of the winter. We've spread some salt, but I don't think the blade has been dropped yet this year and what is this, the 8th or 9th snow advisory for us so far. I'll believe it when I see it.

I haven't looked at the weather channel for some time. I use the internet only and I like www.wunderground.com. The wundermap is populated with people with personal weather stations putting up their own data. I like it.

That might be kinda' fun, when things setlle down a bit I might do that. I have one here now but it is worn out, the bearings went out in the wind speed dingy.

Have to shop one up, but I'm not going up on the roof until spring now to change it out.

Wife and I shoveled off the garage roof this afternoon, that was about enough fun.

2 feet of snow mixed with two 1" layers of crust just to make it fun, had to use a square nosed shovel and just beat your way through it to make small enough chunks to move........

I luv' winter up here......

Mike.

We had a winter storm hit us right before christmas, check out the carnage........:-laf;)
Things are tough all over!

Ummmm. Mike....It's 80 higher there than at your place. Do you really need to think that through?

Of course you could continue to enjoy all that global warming up there.

Yes, Bill and thanks again. Now I'm following through on going live, but slowly.
Now, with this storm. TWC indeed seems to have taken the liberty and named this storm, as they're the only ones calling it a name. Here's a link to my local CBS news. Here, you'll see my new glorious mayoral family getting sworn in by another champ, and you'll see some of the fine equipment I get to play with. The Mack R model wearing a V plow is a short series of a special truck.
