Any recommendations for a auto transporter?

Canadian Hwy 99

Gents; THIS is what happens when we get serious snow.

Used at a lot of airports and such. It's a snowmelter. We have a few for each borough. The little ones use 60 GPH of #2. Into the storm sewer it goes!
Wanna see a circus? Stop by when this is going on!!

You can't just plow in NYC. It's plow, load, truck and dump, then melt to remove trash before it drains into the sewer. Every step costs $. That's what in meant about nowhere to put it.

Nah, BIG, that's a drought year! Where my house is, the seasonal average is 167". In the six winters I've been here, it's ranged from a low of 121" to a high of 214".

Well then let me re-state my thought, A 120" IS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR ME!!!!!!!!! :-laf last year we had 130" The last storm that came thru, I think it was named the arctic express we got down to -27 the coldest its been on that date since 1919, I think that CO got into some of that one it was around Thanksgiving or so, We don't really worry about it here, it is what it is, Nothing I can do about it!!! if snow and cold bothered me I would have stayed in California?????? well let me think about that one, Nah I think im happy right here. :D

Sometimes I see the U.S. Weather Guy out checking his instruments, I have stopped and talked to him about the weather in the mountains. We are only at about 4k in altitude here, up in the mountains it gets the snow. He gave me a book to read about how the storms form in our mountains. Some of the info is pretty awaking. In the mountains just out the back door we have an average of 100" of snow pack, to attain this 250" of snow has to fall most years we have snow in the passes well into July, August when we are scouting for game and stocking the hunt camp up for the season.

To be honest we like the snow, its not like we have to commute to work in it, our work is within walking distance from the house, and we really enjoy the snow play, snowmobiles and Cross Country Skiing are great up here.

Ok Big I got to ask the pic of the fire tower from a distance is really cool, but was it taken from a plane or what I always thought the fire towers were always on the tallest peak. Least they are over here.

Not a plane but a helicopter, was used for that one. some of the towers are on lower peaks with the topography such as it is there is no way that some of the mountains can be reached by truck, so they move to the next highest mountain. Im not for sure, I would have to look at the picture # and go back to see exactly where that was taken, it looks like the tower next to Devils Pinnacle a pretty much straight up climb that you can get to by foot only, but not mine

These guys will take things to places that most wont, Im one that wont.

That looks awful, anybody hurt ?. I see the dogs are trying to stay warm.

Dave

Nope, we are well prepared for this sort of weather.......tank tops, shorts, and a spare chair! The dogs aren't trying to stay warm, they're resting.......been chasing the cat around the yard....

Sam

-2 below here right now according to the Bangor Airport......

I can see another $10,000.00 Natural Gas bill coming on the mail........

Beautiful pics, BIG! Those are why we live where we live!

Mgonske

I have lived where sam is the winds are terrible at times, the heat is beyond comprehension at times, the people are some of the most bone headed people in a car in the US and I have drove in most states in the US. not saying that im better just not nearly as bad.

The Biggest reason to leave Calif, was take a look at the picture on Sam's post, just to let you know THAT'S HIS NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS HOUSE 10 Feet AWAY FROM HIS. with only a wood fence to separate the two, at least when I lived in Calif we had block walls all around, you cant fart in the housing tracks in calif without your neighbors knowing, its like living in a fish bowl 24/7 the freeways are some of the worst on record, AND THEY HAVE SUCH GREAT WEATHER, THEN WHY IS THIS THE CASE? Calif use to be a nice place but again we had 5 acres of land, then the problem with the fine people coming from South of San Diego was getting to be a barrio, We don't have to talk about San Bernardino the police are on the take the city has filed for bank rup. But he lives in Redlands we can talk about the problems that city has, My son was a fireman there not much better than San Berdo. It is getting better now that there is no work except for Mim. wage jobs even the illegals are moving a little east to Texas.

YA!!! I would have to say Keep your same old weather day in and day out, and for that matter just keep calif, IT AIN'T WHAT IT ONCE WAS!!!

BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION :D

Big, it's not as bad as you say (except the part about San Bernardino) If you weren't such a crotchety old fart, things wouldn't seem so bad. If you don't hate your neighbors, a wood fence works just fine. Like you said, things are coming around. Traffic is still bad, but since you live so far out in BFE, it takes you just as long(or longer) to go anywhere than me. You can have all that cold white stuff, I'll take the sunshine.....in fact, I'm still wearing shorts to work everday.

Sam

And all the gang bangers stay in San Berdo and Riverside to rob from WHO??? themselves!! they don't have anything, so let's go to Redlands, Rancho Cauc. where its a little better pickins. Im and Old Fart? not much any longer now that I got out of the mass, when I look out my door I don't see the neighbors and I LOVE them they are my In-laws. Its not the wood fence, we have a wood fence so I can't see my neighbors also, only my fence stands better than 100ft tall and grows, they are call TREES the neighbors are ACRES AWAY not feet ( under 20ft at best right?) Don't know what BFE is but our town has everything that is needed for just about any lifestyle, and is only 10 miles away. If needed we go to THE BIG TOWN once a month there really ain't much there that ain't in the town 10 miles away. We don't eat fast food, we don't go to the movies, (netflix) Just thought about the BFE it has to do with Egypt? ahhhhhh not so old, just a little slow with the new style of telling someone to FO :-laf I like it thanks, as for actually living in BFE that's why we moved you wouldn't like to see this out the door? white with snow or without? Maybe I don't have to go out to work like some, so I guess your HAR :D If we all liked the same place were ever it is the other BIG place would be terrible lonely now wouldn't it??

Have another question you said this: If you don't hate your neighbors,

Has something changed out there in Calif? you get to pick your neighbors now?

So if they are AH's your stuck with them or can you buy more, better, improved models?

Of course Big, old fart is a term of endearment:) I'd be glad to buy you a beer sometime, if you ever are in the 'hood. Some of us have to keep working for a while, got a great job(still) with great insurance(still).....I like the outdoors and open spaces, just not when it is all covered with that infernal white stuff.

Sam

Sam Good enough :D We ain't that far, from your place just a short 1275 mile run up I 15 to 90, 200, 83 to the big fence post!!! (aka BIG PINE TREE) cant go anyplace but right at the fence post ;)

Kind of looks for this but not white

Suppose to be 28* and -4* tomorrow, not bad maybe just a heavy flannel shirt in the 28* and a light sweater added in the -4* :-laf

BS!! I will have on my normal Carhartt insulated bibs with Under Armor medium weight undies, Schnee's boots, Duluth Longtail Long sleeve T Waffle Thermal Henley and be warm and toasty!!!!

It's been cool here, but not too bad. The last few days have been nice. We really, really need some snow. I don't trust the weatherman to get what happened yesterday right.

I talked to my cousin in Frostbite Falls (International Falls) Mn last night. He says its going to get "UP" to minus 16 on sunday (?). The low will be minus 31. brrrr!!!!
