I could use the groups' help here. My driver's side windshield wiper arm shaft is really loose where they go into where the mechanism is. It still functions, but it no longer stops the arms where they aren't a little bit in the way. :confused:

Unfortunately, I'm not able to consult a manual right now. Can someone help me out here please? Would someone be so kind as to post a scan/photo of the service manual so I can see the parts? I'm not even sure how to get in there and tighten things up.

That's excellent Ryan. Thank you! They wouldn't happen to show a picture of the shaft assembly would they? It's the part that the wiper arm attaches to that's loose.

Also, do I just take off the cover somehow to get in there to tighten up the shaft?
 
You've got to remove the cowl panel first, which is number 5 in the last drawing I posted. Looks like 6 screws total (number 3 and number 9).

Unfortunately, there isn't anything that shows the shaft with any more detail. But I'm thinking once you remove that cowl it'll be pretty obvious.

I have the same issue. Its been a pain for the past year. These diagrams should help solve the problem.
