[Briar Hopper]

Anybody else got a bird problem? I've now killed 5 birds, one at a time, strictly unintentionally, with my new Cummins Ram in less than a year's time. It takes out the grille every time, the black honeycomb-patterned plastic piece. It's now broken in 2 places and won't stay on there. I'm thinking of replacing it with metal mesh, the black diamond-patterned furnace grille type stuff. Anybody got a better idea?
BTW, I killed 6 birds (in 2 years) with my 98 Dodge Ram Sport 4x4 318 gasser, that truck was nearly identical to the one I have now, same color,etc.
I don't like the looks of a brushguard (deer strainer, in the immortal words of another TDR member #ad
) but guess that day isn't far off now, if this keeps up...
I need some little bird silhouette stickers for my window, in the style of fighter pilots, one for each bird I shoot down.

Don't feel too bad. I pasted a deer with mine last week and even though the grill gaurd kept him out of the grill and headlights, he still managed to smash in the small amount of cheap chrome oem bumper that was showing.

I will take small birds any day. I hit a turkey with my 97 gasser in June of 98. This is what the windshield looked like:

I've been lucky. My 3/16" thick plate front bumper has "deflected" two large birds with a "twang" noise and zero damage to it.
