Not that great, thanks for asking.

The vicodin they prescribed makes me sick so I have to deal with the pain.

The doc that did the surgery is now on vacation so we are trying to get a different prescription from a stand in doctor but he is un available for another couple hours. I got the patch off now and I was a little surprised cuz they told me it would just be 2 small incisions but I have just one about 4" long and L shaped.

edit I found another incision, it was hard to see with the bruising, that one is kinda small- about 1/4 of the other one. I may post pone my trip another day. No go on different pain meds, tonight its back to vicodin with a Dramamine chaser! :D

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Get well soon.

Bunch of pansies, missing work for a simple hernia. Heck, I didn't miss any work when I had my double hernia repaired in '75.

Of course, I was only 5 years old :)

Yeah, I bet you probably walked 10 miles each way in 2 feet of snow to school every day and uphill both ways too. :-laf :-laf :-laf In Southern California?

:{ Well I will whine a bit more, might as well milk it since I started it. I had no idea my balls would swell and turn black, I can't hardly set down so my trip is a little unpleasant.

Seems that condition happens in rare cases. . lucky me.

Blue balls, black balls - all the same. Just need to relieve some of that built-up pressure. :-laf

Just get needle red hot and poke them, kinda like you do to your thumb nail when you smash it with a hammer.

Dont you see the humour in the fact that not one of your TDR friends prepared you for that little "side effect"? :-laf

I never had that side effect. I relieved the pressure regularly. :-laf

Sure hope you are doing much better by now. It'll be two weeks tomorrow. My wife had hand surgery on the 3rd and is just starting to feel better. Still not out of the woods yet. :)

Be sure your wife follows doc orders. I figured 12 days off would be enough but they weren't quality recovery days cuz I went on a 2800 mile trip thinking I could recover AND get the trip out of the way.

I came home to 2 feet of snow, my nuts are swollen trying to get around and work at the same time plus the incision keeps swelling also.

My doc told me to remember how it felt the first time I sneezed after my surgery, and if I did too much too soon, the next op would make that pain feel like nothing. I own and operate a shrimp trawler, it wasn't easy not working on the boat in the off season, but I was a good boy. I do alot of stomach exercises now, tho, I sure don't need another round of that. Old age is hell.
