I need your input. I've got an appt. early next week to get my bed AND rocker panels sprayed. Seems like a good idea to me. What do you think?Anyone out there done this?Seems like this would stop any chipping and spiff up the truck a tad. Truck is med. bronze, thinking of the dark charcoal line-x.

Before you go with Line-X, I would suggest checking out Arma Coatings www.armacoatings.com . The finish is much better suited to the Rams quality finish.

I love my Arma spray in bed liner. Life time warranty just like Line-X and the finish is no comparision whatsoever.

Yes, I have the distinction (or is it distinkshun) of being the first test guinea pig at this site, as far as I can recall. I had the rockers sprayed, then painted. YEEHAW. The other day some fella was admiring it but was wondering about durability, etc etc etc. I said "... gimme your keys for a sec. . " and proceeded to try and KEY the crap out of my rockers right in front of him. He nearly fainted. But of course, not even a scratch... .

Can't address the "arma coatings" Never heard of it, know nothing about it. Make sure however, regardless of whatever you do, that they bring the material up to the body side moulding---have them do lip of wheel wells unless flares or protectors are in order.

Good luck! Worked for me... .....

haven't seen arma coating , buti have Line-x , and its great , have them spray down to the break line when going over the rail , i wish i had , dented the tailgat just below the edge but above where i should have had it sprayed to , didn't have my rockers done , i may go back .

but i would have them spray up underneath on the cab floor , outborard of the framerails , looks like a place that will rust quickly , mine hasn't as of yet , but its only 4 months old . .

The dealer here in VT will not do the rockers as he has had trouble with water getting behind the linex and after freezing causing the linex to pop at the top edge.

It is great everywhere else, just no place to stop the rocker's upper edge without it being too open for moisture.

There is BS and then there is BS, so I'll pass on a story and you make up your own mind.

When I had Line-x sprayed on the dealer told me that Line-x manufactured their product and that Arma bought their product from Line-x. If this is true then the difference some see could be "workmanship". I have seen some really bad work. Just picked up my truck last night with its new bed and an Arma coating this time.

Thats my . 02 FWIW

Well that Line-X dealer must of had this pant legs rolled up because he was knee deep in BS. Arma Coatings DOES NOT buy their products from Line-X. The two coatings are different in texture and shine. Line-x is basically flat black and Arma is Gloss.

Check it out. The Dealer should be repremanded.

I went with the Arma Coating on the '92 and really enjoyed it for 6 months, now my step brother has it and the dogs don't seem to bother it at all. OTOH - the neighbor has had 2 trucks done with Line-X and both have started to peel - this could be because they were phurds #ad
or poor prep job

Just got back an hour ago after having Line-X liner installed... .

Mine's not peeling #ad
and it looks great on my black sport longbox over the rail.

It's your choice just do it.

Had a Line-x liner sprayed in the bed of my '99 over a year ago and have had NO problems. Stuff is TUFF! Dogs, furniture, firewood, lumber, huntin' stuff, nothing bothers it. HIGHLY recommend the Line-x

Alright, guys. I'm convinced. Once I get it sprayed next Tuesday,I'll report back. If they're willing to give me a lifetime warranty,I'm going w/it. I'll report back next weds. Sagwagon

If any of y'all have any more information than I do, I will ask. I know that some places will add pigment to their spray so you can have a color that matches the truck. Can they mask off areas so you can have a multi-colored bed? What I am wanting to do is get a Texas flag sprayed in the bed. Would the joints be too weak and start splitting and peeling? I guess I could ask the guys at a line-x or Rhino dealer, but I an just lazy I guess. Thanks

Line-X just sprayed my bed liner and rocker panels yesterday and it looks great. #ad
I had them spray the rockers from that little trough below the side molding down. Silver (Light Driftwood) and black. It looks really sharp and the finish looks great to me. I've never seen the Armacoat so I can't comment on that. I took the rear bumper off so they could spray that small area that wraps around the back of the truck that the bumper normally covers. Now all I need to do is figure out how to paint that lower plastic portion of the front bumper. I would like to change it from silver to black.

i first found out about line-x at the state fair last year. sounded like a great idea... still does.

the line-x liner in my truck has been there about two years... . looks new. haven't got to abuse it much though (i just bought the truck last month). i have seen line-x on rocker panels. looks great! and a good idea. i think i may go for a drift wood coating. this is the first disparaging comments on line-x i've heard... . but then again doesn't freeze much in california (especially in san francisco on the beach).

cocahoe , should be easy to paint , just get the paint for plastic bumpers , should be able to get it in spray bombs at places like autozone or pep boys. i know they make a primer of some sort to help it stick , i'll have to look into that ...

Thanks Mopar. I really hadn't had time to look into painting options yet. I' swing by the auto parts stores and check out what they have.

The black Line-X rockers with the black plastic trim on the grey/silver back ground should look good. I've already had several complements on how good the truck looks now.
