I was just looking at the current active user counter, 74 registered users and 73 unregistered "guests" So this is for all the "guests" Why don't you guys pony up and register? I'm sure many of you, like me, have learned many things on this board that has saved you time and money. You, like me, probably have avoided a number of headaches and frustrations that the stealers can cause, because of things you have read on this board. You, like me, have probably saved alot of money on truck add-ons from vendors you learned about on this board. The body of knowledge that the regular posters have provided is second to none.

So, all you "guests", get a subscription to a great magazine for a measley $35. Then begin posting your ideas, kudos, rants, fix it's,expieriences and thoughts. Then you can add to the body of knowledge that is here and we can learn some things from you. :)

They're too cheap to do that, Ram4Sam. Every time I run a classified to sell something, I get the meanest, nastiest emails full of questions couched in the most unfriendly terms, from the most hard-bitten overly suspicious clowns you could imagine, none of whom I recognize from the forums. The ones I do know, are invariably polite and friendly to me, even if I have not met them in person. Like it or not, we're putting on quite a free show here for a "fringe element" (pun intended) out there. I won't be answering any more rude email full of unfriendly, coarse language and mispellings, questioning my integrity. So those lurkers that fit this bill, I wish you all the Duramaxes in the world. You'll fit right in to that crowd.

Well now, that's not nice

Now, now... be nice.

I 'lurked' for about 6 months while I did alot of research on whether/which brand I was going to buy. This website had a HUGE factor in my decision and I became a member before I even bought (just so I could ask the questions that I wasn't getting the answers for from the salespeople).

The point is... .

<to the lurkers out there>

If you think it's good just reading what you have access to now, try a membership. There's more than just the public access stuff.

I lurked for a year and a half before registering. Remember, if nobody ever lurks, then there will never be any new members. And I for one know that some of the info on here comes from the lurkers. Several months ago someone asked the weight of the center console. I had a spare, weighed it and emailed the answer. I not only did not get so much as a thankyou, but when reading on the site a few days later, this person posted that they now had the answer and gave it as if they figured it out themselves. So, to all you lurkers, keep reading. But if you really want to use the site to it's fullest potential, pay up and enjoy. I'm glad I did.

lurkers

heck, it's worth the money just to harass the other members!!:D TDR helps to break the monotony of the day. i'd hate not being able to post, add info (occasionally), and ask questions. THE BEST, LEAST EXPENSIVE BOMB WAS MY TDR MEMBERSHIP!!!!;)

I'll second that Redneckdr!!

I just wish i'd lurked before i bought the truck. . I might have changed a few options:D. I've learned a lot more on this site about dodge trucks than dealer and most owners know. The best $35 i ever spent on a vehicle. . if nuthin else I learned to stay away from the doctor;):)

I was a lurker for about three months. I learned a lot of good information in order to find the right rig on the used market. Try not to flame them, they might join up and be among your big-shot 1000+ posters one day.

Read it again, I wasn't including ALL lurkers in that description. Nothing wrong with it, I think Ram4Sam is right to encourage people to go ahead and sign up. The benefits are fantastic. But I also think there is a majority out there, that never will sign up, for their own reasons. If you guys could just see some of the email I've received... . Definitely a fringe element out there.

To the clown who said: "tell me why you want to sell that Hx40, and don't lie" all I can say to you is, you're evidently not a member here, because if you were, you'd know my word is my bond with MANY TDR members in several countries around the world! I found it extremely offensive to be called a liar before I had even said anything! No name given, and the email address was not one belonging to any member, as far as I know. And that's just one example.

Yeah I lurked around here for a few months before I signed up... . I also signed up before the truck was here. Sifting through my memory (which is a scary thing in itself) I may have even signed up before I ordered it! Point being though if I hadn't had the opportunity to look around here first I probably wouldn't have joined-I like to see what I'm getting before I drop the $$$... .

It seems like every day when I log in the "welcome to our newest member" at the top of the forum login screen always has a different name. So I think a lot of the fellas that lurk eventually move over to the dark side here anyways ;) .

My 2 cents anyways... .

Some of our lurkers are actually TDR members who are timid about being yelled at by some of our more outspoken members.

lurkers

a TDR member listening in, and not posting isn't really a lurker..... maybe bashful or not posting for some reason.

briar, it would be nice to assume all the TDR members are nice guys like you and endowed with a big dose of integrity. i suspect that buying a CTD, and joining TDR doesn't make a less than honest man honest. it also won't make a bad guy a nice guy. that being said, i think that the bulk of the TDR members are loyal, trustworthy, kind, etc... .

I hope the lurkers are getting the intent of my post. It was just to encourage them to to join in the fun. It was not a put down in any way, shape or form. Who knows, one of the lurkers may be sitting on the solution to the missing/bucking problem some of the 24V trucks are having. Wouldn't that be something!

I was a lurker for a few months while shopping for my truck. This website helped me make up my mind to buy the Dodge. Finally I found the right deal bought the truck and registered shortly after. Love the website. :)

Hey, I was a lurker for about six months. Unfortunatly I did know about this site before I bought my dodge. I bought the wrong engine! I have seen the light now (or is that a black cloud)

and have convinced the wife that the next truck will be a cummins diesel. It probably will be a medium class RV tower. WE want a big 5th wheel. ~35'

By joining this board, it was the best $35 buck I spent. :D I have learned more about my truck than I ever could have known. I may not post a lot but I definetly read it 5 days a week from work and sometimes on the weekend. I will only jump in if I feel I can contribute to the forum.

My opinions:

duramax, alumunium heads, yea right:eek:

powerstroke, light duty, V8 wrong design:eek:

Cummins, I6, medium duty, easily bombable for reasonable cost, :p

lurkers

seems as if you will always have people wanting to ride the coat tails of those who made it happen. easier to be on the sideline and complaign as opposed to getting involved. i was also a lurker. i wanted to evaluate whether i would get my monies worth. yes i do and i am better equipped because of it. kind of like riding without helmets here in florida. if one chooses to ride without a helmet i personally believe they should be an ABATE member since we are the organization that made helmet choice a reality. will that ever happen: never! i have to accept it is their choice. bruce
