On the main page that loads, choose "configurator" from the list. It's on the far right of the options, then plug in your truck and see what is offered as HP options to go for and the results/costs... .

I think it makes my point that there are very few doing alot for us 1st Gen guys...

No slam intended, just that by now there should be much more available, the proof of which is the HP levels alot of us are at now, especially one or two of us in particular. .

It looks like an excellent tool for the 2nd Gen trucks though.

BTW 'ketch, have you tweaked your governor yet? Just curious since you're running 4:10's. Also I think the nozzles you have are likely the POD's, maybe just rebranded, but I may be wrong.

Bob.

What is the governor?I turned up high idle adjust 3 turns. If injectors are pod's they were a lot less money then pod's. $285. 00 including washers. Made truck shout!BIG differance in feel. Another question, idle exactly went down some, why?I still need to get damn power adjust screw to move. It's locked!!Won't move foward or backwards. Moved it 2 years ago some but not much and idle went up. Its kinda back down after injectors installed. Been raining,no garage and Barn kinda full with hay and horses.

Bushwacker,

I feel the pain. Here you go, it's your turn. Go to the local Cummins dealer, and make up your parts list... ... . P-pump conversion for first gens :D :D I haven't spent the time finding the parts, I would rather build my own engine, but it still can be done without too much trouble.

Well, they're claiming 135 hp for the stock engine (at least for 1992), and that sounds like a conservative rear-wheel number. I figure 190 would be pretty close to a conservative rear-wheel number for mine now, maybe a little less.

Mike

Well I guess that showing 190 HP is conservative on their part, and that would be a good philosophy to have in general... that way when you get on the dyno and do better you're happy, right. .

Midnight, if I was gonna go to a P-pump conversion I know were I'd go to get it done... . and it would be cheaper than going to Cummins too. . I'd get a 'stoopid' pump. . ;)

I was just surprised that they didn't show more options and HP potential for the 1st Gen trucks. Heck, if you go out and do some fine tuning and tiddling you can get that your own self... nozzles would just take you up over the top, so to speak. .

Anyway, I like the idea of that little tool for getting an idea of what it may take to reach a certain level using their systems/products etc.

The only dyno sheet I'm willing to produce, for now, is the one that shows 225. 2 HP @2200 and 737. 5 @ 1480RPM.

Gotta keep an eye on "Wildman", you never know when you're likely to see him sneakin up on ya from behind... ;)

The last thing any of us needs is a fly porta-pottie hitting the fender as he screams by... ... . :) and of course there's Bill, what can I say, he'll 'stick' it to ya if yer not looking... ;);)

He stole my brand new stone wheel too the ole gear jammer...

This always drives me nuts. Nobody seems to sell anything for the 1st gens anymore!

I don't know if it was DIS, TST, or DD, but one of them used to sell upgrade kits for the VE pump (actual parts, not just adjustment instructions). That seems to have disappeared, unfortunately.

Mike

In time PDR will be selling tried and proven hp kits for our trucks. We are testing products as we speak so PDR can give you the facts with numbers to back it up. We are also working on some rear disc packages for the near future.

:D :D :D I wondered if he was listening to me when we had some of those conversations... . :D :D :D

Ya gotta luv it when a plan comes together... . sic em boy, sic em...

Bob.

Rear Discs?

Mark,

I've been following your rear disc conversion threads,

Just wondering what you are using for an emergency brake?

Didn't look like the Eldorado calipers that the other guys are using.

I've got a leaking rear seal and thought it would be a good time to do this conversion instead of buying brake shoes. :D :D

Should save me a bunch of money, HAHAHAHA... ...

Thanks,

Caleb

Not trying to fill word in others mouths...but...

I could lay money, not serious money, but some :D that Piers had told someone on here that our trucks are not dehydrated on fuel, you just have to do the right stuff to the pump to get enough :)?

Another thought, ever watch super farm tractor pulling? A lot of tiny rotary pumps are used on those 4-6 cyl tractors, and they don't seem to have a fuel problem. I know it is another extreme from our situation, but hmmm.

You guys think you can't find performance parts out west? Try out the land that performance forgot. There is nothing out here, mail order everything (which actually isn't bad because I get to deal with guys like Piers and Al at PDR and Rod at Wildcat), and you'd better be able to install it yourself because no one else here seems to know how. Makes me so

Ray

190 HP THATS GREAT. Wonder if thats rwhp or flywheel hp. Don't matter, either way is more than the 160hp that my valve cover says I have. ;) :D :D

Sorry Caleb, I missed your post. I'm not using a E brake currantly. I might make a driveline brake in the future which is the best of both worlds.

In the GREATER Atlanta Georgia area I havent'nt found but one diesel shop whom I hear is exspanding. I priced them on injectors and really did'nt like the attitude etc. and pricing was almost three times parts and labor I ended up paying. Was kinda shocked at that! The shop's up North and Midwest etc. seemed a lot more knowledgeable and user friendy. Really liked Doug at Smokin Diesel.com. He was great to deal with! All you guy's with TDR have been great to chat with etc. :)
