I appreciate the nice reply you had for me on my post "Ex-Powerstroke man". Call it what you want to, but there ain't nobody doing any whining-just stating my opinion. There are very few people,if any, that have never had a complaint about a vehicle they have owned. If you're one of those, my hats off to ya. As for getting my "bubble bursted", I never remember saying anything to the effect of "Dodge is the best truck in the world and Ford if the biggest piece of crap in the world". I've had both good and bad luck with Fords-just figured it was time for a change. No hard feelings.

I had five Phords (no diesels) before switching to the Ram. The problems got progressively worse with each purchase and that's why I made the switch in 98 to the Dodge. Yea, both have problems but I am much happier with my second Ram than I was with my second Phord. I didn't have any major problems with my 98 and the main issue I had with the 01 was the steering and that was fixed with the installation of a new box. Welcome aboard, Bull. I think you'll find more agreement than disagreement here.

Mercy..... Mercy... . Bull:
Somebody put a cuckle burr under the cinch. I've owned 3 pords, never again. Would not pull. This my 2'nd Dodge(Cummins), and won't go back. Every thing made by man will give trouble it's just what fits your needs. I have found my fit and it fits very well. Like a pair of pants, old and worn but O' so soft. When my 96-3500 hurts, I'll fix it, clean it, give it an asprin or two and keep on trucking.
Pay no attention to the squawkers, my word, enjoy and WELLCOME

Welcome Bull!
I 've owned a few ford vans(bought used).
78 E-250 12-pass.
88 E-350 15-pass.
Both had 460/7. 5L(gassers) in them.
I went to Dodge because 1. I was always a Dodge Man(ford is Ok too). 2. because that 7. 5L with all the pollution crud on it was hard to work on(6 out of 8 spark plugs had to be taken out thru wheel well) and the labor was out sight to let any one else work on them( thank goodness not much did) Both vans had over 230,000 when I retired them.
Good luck with your Dodge.
Oh yeah, it sure is nice to see the whole engine!

A wise old man down in Waco, Texas once told me: "if it's got tits or tires on it, sooner or later, you're going to have trouble with it". I have never forgotten that.

hey bull, I have had eight new fords a "67, 73, 77, 80, 84, 87, 95, and a 96 and they were all excellent trucks (all gas,). The only reason I switched over to a dodge is I get the employee disount thru my brother-in-law and I wanted to try the cummins - I just love it.

I agree with Barry. I think a lot of it is the maintenance of it. I have never owned a f---- and never will. I am on my 2nd cummins and love this one more than the first. I am even getting used to the color, at first I didn't like it. I bought it for the engine.
