I am an Alabama Beekeeper in Alexander City, AL.
My friend and supplier is driving a 96 4wd NV 4500 5 sp manual, in Waycross, GA with no 5th Gear again. The 35 hives are here for our new beekeepers in CABA (Central Alabama Beekeepers Association), from Beeline in PA. The owner of the truck has paid someone 2times before to repair with the chrysler upgraded nut and associated parts (junk, obviously).
A new Blumenthal mainshaft, 5th Gear, and nut, collar, washers etc. (kit) will arrive tomorrow AM.
I need a reco to get this installed ASAP, as he has his bees (live 450! hives) he HAS to hurry back to PA (or they die). I will pick up our hives tomorrow when I deliver to Jonathan, his new parts, in my 1996 2500 2wd.
Not looking for a "free" help etc, just someone who has a lift and can either loan it to us, por rent it, rather, or do the install for us, timely so we can leave Saturday? hopefully.
It will drive now (of course), but we are concerned about it sticking in gear if the gear or other parts wedges in a slot by any other gear or linkage etc. With all these bees, and their nature, and having to keep them cool (moving During daylight, especially) A breakdown just CANNOT be risked, if at all possible!
We could be ruined financially of course, should the bees all or even most, of course, die.
