Hi beam light issue on 2012 Ram.

Hello. The truck is a 2012 Ram 4x4 diesel auto with 160K miles. No matter hot or cold temperatures the issue persists. With engine running and hi beams applied, there is a temporary hiccup in the electrical system. Whole electrical system will shut down for a split second and then pop back on. Lights will blink off, engine will stumble, and gauges and radio will shut down. And as fast as everything shuts down it will come back to life. This only happens with the hi beams on. Truck has new batteries and clean terminals. Thank you for any help in advance.

Recheck/reclean the battery terminals and connections, then clean all the grounds.

I've had a heck of a lot of TIPM problems with my 2007. I realize that we are talking about a different generation of truck, but I am having high beam issues currently and have a replacement TIPM on order.

I don't know if the 4th generation trucks suffer from the same problems, but it might be something to consider.

I will check grounds and battery connections. I did not know the TIPM could be problematic. Have been very lucky with past trucks. Thanks.

I would get this when it is -20 and I would turn the wiper blades on and off very quickly. Every electronic would shut down for a second and then come back on. Dealership was never able to reproduce it and said they could not find anything. 2010 3500 mega cab Outdoorsman SLT.
