as far as the exhaust, $430 off ebay shipped! i shopped around and its the best deal i found. . local shop wanted $700 so i think i did alright for my first purchase. .

430 vs 700 your doing well for your first bomb. and yes thats is sort of what your in for. the trick i think is go all out from the get go. you'll get there sooner and cheaper. if you go the route most people do. first you'll buy the exhaust, then intake, then you'll get a chip. you'll find out then that you want more fuel. so injectors, after that you'll need more air so you get a turbo. then its too much air so another set of injectors. at some point you'll need a clutch or new transmission since you'll out do it soon enough. basicaly its a never ending cycle. once your in its hard to get out of it. so be careful
