I found the article in the latest TDR about the 1 million mile plus Cummins/Dodge very interesting. When I picked up a new trailer at Featherlite a few weeks ago, I asked my contact about their Dodge fleet. His comment was that they owned between 20 and 30 Dodge/Cummins. They routinely run them from 450-650,000 miles, and then expect $8500 from them when they trade. They tried 3 Fords, had engine trouble starting at 100,000 miles, dealer wouldn't stand behind them so, "We got rid of them. " According to him, their biggest problem is transmissions and clutches, but Dodge has stood behind the transmissions for them. (Does DC think of them as a test bed???) His comments didn't seem out of line after reading the article in TDR.
