Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) hi my 98.5 auto box gone bang ,like to fit 6 speed manuel

HI i have a 1998. 5 2500 4x4 with 4 speed auto 375 bhp 750+ torque, box was std now in bits let go on holiday ,just got it home on the back of a wrecker . i would like to fit a 6 speed manuel any advise would be helpfull + ineed the transmission adapter plate , pedal box ect.

Did you pull out the auto transmission? I have a 98. 5 3500 4x4 5spd and would like to have an auto transmission. Might be interested in your parts if still available. PM me or I'll watch this post.

Hmmm... . you interested in a 47RE, rebuilt about 25,000 miles ago? The torque convertor isn't the best, and IMO the trans would need to be go though. Still in my truck.



I've been wanting to put a 5 speed in it.

Brian, just curious, where are you located and what are the specifics on your Ram? is it 4x4 quad short bed? I wish I had an auto and have thought about selling or trading my 5 sp. for one with auto.

Before you jump on the manual 6 speed, there have been several posts about rebuild parts shortages for the NV5600.



I don't know if the company that bought out New Venture is going to make rebuild parts available... .

NV5600 parts are on the way from Blumenthal Heavy Duty. In early 2007 the parts shortage is supposed to be taken care of. As of right now they are building trans. for DC.
