HID and DRL

My 06 has HID headlights and when I'm driving the RH light flickers ( my truck has daytime running lights ) like it is vibrating. When I turn on the headlights it doesn't flicker at all. The DRL is part of the TIPM as far as I understand. Anyone with DRL have this issue?

Had to switch my DRL off for the HIDs.

If I remember correctly DRL are required by law in Canada.

Dave why did you go with HID's instead of LED lights?

I have been using LED'S head lights on my 2008, since Jan of 2019, when I installed them. And they have improved the night time visibility greatly with no blind spots.

The truck came with the HID when I bought it this past spring, otherwise I probably would have installed LED as it is much simpler. I did clean up the wiring and install new bulbs. Since DRL is law in Canada I can't go to the dealer and ask them to shut them off. I have been told that DRL shouldn't work with HIDs because of the voltage issue.

Sorry to break in I tried running HIDs, Bought Xenonpros and after a hour long discussion was told that my 06 ram was rejecting them their reply not mine. I have no daytime running lights, no auto lights. I find it hard to believe its not like a heart or kidney transplant ya know 12volts and a ground a signal from the headlight switch. Any Ideas or should I run LEDs?

No problems on my 04.5, but i bought an all included system with a couple of resistors and relays all pre-wired.

I have no clue what you have installed yet but from what you say it's missing some resistors. The TIPM checks continously for resistance in all head light wires and wants to see proper return, otherwise it shuts down the circuits for that certain wire.

I put new bulbs and resistors as well as an updated wiring harness for the HIDs in my truck and now it all works, including the DRL. The only issue i have is my RH headlight "flickers" when in DRL mode but doesn't when the head lights are on.

Xenon pros with everything, capacitors, ballasts with harnesses and bulbs. I spend and hour on the phone with their tech support people. adding resistors was one of my questions and I was told that my pickup was rejecting them. I understand that the system needs to see feed back at least a certain amount through resistance. Dodge dealer was no help
