HID Installation

Hi everyone,

Does anyone here have experience installing the HID lights on the 3rd gens (not sure if they differ from the previous models)? The shop where I do a lot of my electronic work is installing them but running into LOTS of problems, particularly with the passenger side light. When the truck is off, you can turn them on just fine, however, if you turn the truck on, and try turning the lights on, THAT'S a problem. I'm guessing the built-in computer has something to do with it because the dash says LAMP OUT, even though the lights are on.



Anyway, if anyone could help, I (and the shop) would greatly appreciate it!

I would think a resister would help that situation to fool the computer into thinking there is a real light bulb there and not the ballast... Not sure what sizw oudl work though

That's actually one of the ideas the techs had, but they couldn't go through with it since they didn't know the size... oh well.

This maybe be late in coming but measure the resistance in the light itself as its plugged in and then have them compare it to the HID system and add enough OHMs to make it basically even.
