Has anyone wired up a hidden door unlock switch? This might be handy for numerous reasons. Lock the keys in again, kids lock you out, or you need to run into the bank to make a quick withdrawl, but you want to lock the truck (so no one will take it)and leave it running because you need to leave town quickly.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have a dual key chain that releases one ring from the other with the push of a button. I leave the ignition key on one part and the lock fob on the other. The doors lock with the ignition on/motor running if you click the lock fob. After you loot the bank (or in my case get you coffee) click her open and off you go.

Only problem is it doesn't stop someone from breaking a window and leaving you w/nothing but a fresh coffee . . .

get a remote start and you can leave it running and take the key out and lock it they cant steal it cause as soon as you hit the brake it shuts down unless the key is put back in had it on my truck before i did the 6 speed change over just get a dei or clifford they both real good and not too bad to install

Thinking of robbing some banks, Jim? :-laf

Yeah, I'm guilty of leaving my truck running at times 2 hours while somewhere. I live in Phoenix and the temperature gets... well, you know. I also routinely start the truck in front of the house to cool it off for pretty long amounts of time. I also remove the key fob.

I only do this in the summertime because it's so damn hot. I figure diesel vehicles sip fuel when ideling at least relative to a gas engine because gas engines run at a constant air/fuel mixture even when ideling... Also, since it's so damn hot, my engine stays at normal temperature and my post turbo temperature never gets below 325-350. In this heat, even when I start my truck "cold" in front of the house my EGT heats up very very quickly. It's my theory that as long as my EGT's are up and the engine temperature is up I'm not risking any blow by/oil contamination.
