Competition IRP Results of SledPulling....?

I am just wondering what yo uguys think it would take.

my truck is an 02 with 3:54's and 265-75-16's. not sure what it weighs.

I would really like to be in that time range. once the car is sold I will be doing, edm 150hp injectors, htb264-14, built trans, I have a comp, and may get a smarty,

let me know what yo uthink. Thanks. Dan

you may want to add NOS to that also,

I would go:

mach 6's (220hp)

silver bullet

O-ring and stud head

comp box

trans (input and out put shafts)

fuel system (pump and big line kit)

and either a BD-RAD or the smarty for the 1st and 2nd gear de-fueling

that will put you in the mid to hi 12's

That sounds about right.

I run mid 12's with what I have (see sig). I can't think of a thing I would do differently. From my experience the 64/14 won't supply enough air for 12's, at least not consistently. Adding nitrous (as mentioned above), would probably be required. I would rather do twins. I would also lean towards the BD RAD instead of the Smarty for racing.

The only thing that see is you shouldn't need to O-ring the head. Just put 12mm heads studs in @120ftlbs. and you'll be OK. Don't pull the head unless you have to. I'm running mid. 11. 's on a stock OEm head gasket with studs and the motor has 175,000 miles on it. The last 30,000 miles was at around 550hp the all the time beating the living S$$t out of it!

Uh oh Tim, you may have just jinxed yourself on that note. :-laf

But I have to say that beast of yours runs very well! It looked good in Redding.

TAlbiston i wish i had your luck on head gaskets :-laf

2 weeks after i studed mine the head gasket went :{

so i pulled it and O-ringed it

Sorry about that I didn't mean to rub in. Some people call it lucky. I don't know I run lots of fuel HT sledpuller 66 and a 2 stage NOS system. She stay's together, but that why I said don't pull your head until you have to. Just because you might not have to.

See my sig. I just ran 13. 037 seconds at 101. 58 mph with . 769 reaction time  ,First run ever for quarter mile never lined at a tree before people say its not bad for a beginner. I was not paying that close of attention to the tree. At the eight mile mark I was at 8. 16 sec at 80. 6 mph. I have a tool box in the box weighing probably 1000 lbs or more.

Thanks, it ran OK, I had some shifting problems. It should have been in the low, low 11's but things happen.

I really wanted twins but dont have the cash right now. the trans will have billet shafts and the usual things, and a tripple disc.

I diddnt like the rad because I dont want the gauges not to work evreytime I want to use it, which is all the time, lol. I like the smarty because it is allways on and adds some heavier fueling down low.

so do you guys think its possible to get down at least in low 13s with what I want to do,

oh and how are the big injectors like that on the street?

I'm not starting S$$t, but how did you run 13. 0's with only 377hp? Just asking.

TAlbiston, no worries... . i am just glad mine went close to home :-laf

i agree if you don't have to do it then don't but when it goes it's always at the wrong time. :-laf

wow that seems pretty fast for that power. so really I shouldent be far off of that at all.

oh and I have allways wondered about running a walker airsep on a truck, you have any pics of yours?

reaction time has no effect on ET. the clock will not start till you break the beam,... . you can sit there for 10min and still run a 12 sec run, reaction time only matters when racing

I am not a racer so I do not know a lot about it but they were just runs for fun or test runs  These were the #,s handed to me after the run. The tree was set for racing I guess, 3 yellows and then green and stomped down throttle is all I did. I only tried because I was taunghted to. It didn,t spark a big interest for me I perfer dirt. ;)

I will have to try to get pics of it I have had several other inquiries about it too I really like it. It was spendy around $300 plus the K&n to go on it. I have seen one in a magazine that was used with a scottyII intake. I would have liked to have done this but I mounted my Amsoil dual remote bypass filter setup to fender where stock air box used to be,I offroad a lot and didn't want it under the pickup on front crossmember where most people mount them.

A TST Competition + Edge EZ + 125 HP injectors + ATS transmission + PDR HX-40 + BD RAD + Intake/Exhaust + Cam has taken 2 separate 24Vs to the 12. 90s @ 104-105 MPH. That combo dynoed 460-485 hp depending on the dyno.

I've ran a best of 12. 84 @102 mph with what's in my sig. That's with a 20psi launch 1. 66 60 foot and a 8. 21 1/8 mile. For bracket racing I leave at 15 psi and pull 1. 75 60 foots, 8. 30 1/8 mile times and run in the 13. 0s. Density altitude was normally in the 3500-4000 ft range for most of my passes. I'm on 285s and hit the scales at close to 7100 pounds with me in the truck.
