After my High beams are on for about 5 minutes, they will start blinking . ( like a turn signal). I replaced the high beam switch with no success. Could it be the relay? Any ideas? Thanks John
How fast are they actually blinking? Could someone at one point in time or another possibly put in a circuit breaker (and possibly of different amperage) in place of the fuse for the headlamps and now there is an excessive draw that is causing the breaker to open and close? Looked at the wiring diag and there are no relays on that model / system for the headlamps, just the fogs (if equipped) I attached a link to an image of the headlamp system for a 96 as well, its the same for a 2500 and 3500 according to my source. Hope this helps, electrical gremlins are never fun to get rid of
I found a broken ground wire & was hoping that was it, but wasn't.
They blink a little slower than the turn signals (that is why I thought it may be the switch) I've had this truck for 4 years & never had any previous trouble. Would the brite box fix this?

In the old days the light switch would have an integral circuit breaker. If high resistance was encountered the breaker would respond this way. I have no idea on these newer vehicles but your symtoms sure sound like it. Back then a new switch would usually take care of the problem. I know light switches on the newer trucks have been problematic.
