Has anyone had the high beam headlight circuit go away on them? We got down to Pensacola and never noticed, but on the return trip found that the high beam did not work. Haven't started to look into it yet, just looking for some advice. Can't believe it would be something as simple as a fuse.

Thanks

I noticed that my high beams stopped working when the High beam bulb burned out. you didn't post a sig so I don't know if you have the sport headlights or not. If you don't then disregard this post and check fuses.

Well now, this was interesting. Seems that the snowplow dealer who installed the Boss plow system on my '99 truck is very familiar with this failure, as was the technician at my dealer. Seems there are a couple of relays in the plow wiring harness located behind the driver side headlight assembly. Easy to get to. The problem is that rather than mount these relays in an upright position, the installer just lets them hang upside down. Yep, and the salt spray and water settle into the bottom of the socket assembly and corrode the socket contacts of the relays.

"No problem" sez the plow dealer tech. Just purchase new ones and "oh, by the way, make sure ya load 'em up real good with dielectric grease. " Yeah, and was weren't the originals loaded up with said grease right from the factory. GRRRR.

I unplugged the existing relays, cleaned the contacts, (they wuz a real pretty shade of green) greased the socket and re-inserted. I now have my bright lights back.
