HELP! High beam dash light and day time running lights out

My truck was imported from Canada, where day time running lights are the norm. Sometime last year, I lost my day time running lights, and my high beam indicator on my dash. This, I believe, happened at the same time. Now, everything seems normal for a California vehicle, meaning there are no day time running lights, except I can not tell when the high beams are on. The big blue dash light is out, which indicates your frickin’ high beams are on! I changed the bulb behind the instrument cluster, thinking that the two symptoms were isolated. But nooooooooooo, that didn’t fix anything! It must be a relay or a fuse. Does anyone know what the problem may be? There must be an easy solution. That’s why I can’t figure it out! Thanks in adavance. I really appreciate it.

The daytime running light module has failed. It should be a black box mounted on the left fender with one connector going to it. Sometimes the lights will stay on and the only way to shut them off is to pull the plug on the module. Like you have noticed all this affects is your high beam indicator. I have had to replace two of these one in my dakota and one in my ram just went to the junk yard as the ******* wants $120 cdn.

Does this affect your ashtray/bin light? On my truck the Daytime driving lights went out but the high beam indicator works, however, my ashtray/bin compartment lights don't work. I did try running a 12 volt jump wire to test the circuit and in the process it powered the daytime lights. I don't understand.
