Has anybody with one of those aftermarket 54 or 60 gallon saddle tanks had a problem with high centering?

Since I've never seen one installed, I'm wondering how much ground clearance you actually lose.

Thanks

You might refer to my article on the Transfer Flow 54 gallon tank in TDR Issue 32, p. 142. The tank is a couple inches lower than stock, but I've had no clearance problems in over two years with it. Other parts such as transfer case, driveshaft, and differential will get you into trouble about as fast on a rough trail.

Ya mean...

4x2? As in, 4 wheels, 2 wheels driven.

2x4s are at Home Depot

As for the subject of the Transfer Flow 54 gallon replacement fuel tank...

I purchased one when Transfer Flow had them on sale at introductory pricing. Absolutely awesome product! Yes, they do hang a little lower than the OE plastic fuel tank but it is one solid tank! I mean, the tank by itself without the sender and mounting brackets installed weighs 180 lbs!  If I remember correctly, the bottom of the tank is made of 10 ga. aluminized steel and the remainder of the tank is fabricated with 12 ga. aluminized steel with internal baffles for slosh abatement.

This is definitely one accessory that I would not be without!
