Pulling someone out of snowbank--did I hurt it?

2008 a mystery

Today and once two months ago I experienced high DPF system temps on my 2007. 5. Today I was about an hour into a solo trip from Orlando to Ft. Myers and my Edge Insight showed a regen in process. The regen lasted a normal time and then went off but the temps seemed to stay up around 1000 for a time and then the regen went back on and the temps went almost to 1900 degrees. I decelarated and was getting ready to pull off when the computer threw two codes (P200c and P1451) and shut down regen. Temps went back to normal and a later regen went as normal. I am running a Smarty Jr. in the economy mode.

Does anyone have any ideas about what caused this???

We always require at least basic information to even think about your problem.

What model is the truck ie pickup or C&C? How many miles? How has it been serviced? What if any mods?

What do you consider a normal duration regen? What temps are you describing? EGT? What were you doing when you saw 1900*? Accelerating hard? Hauling heavy load?

Harvey, sorry. For some reason my info did not show on the post. Truck is 2007. 5 3500, 80,000 miles no mods and has been serviced by Dodge dealer according to service schedule. I am running a Smarty jr. and was in the economy mode. The normal regen duration seems to be 10 to 15 minutes but I have never timed it. The temps were the post DOC and post DPF temps as reported on the Edge Insight. I negelected to look at the EGR at the time. I was running 70 mph with no load, just normal driving, no hard acceleration.

The full regen cycle normally runs up to 30 - 40 minutes in my truck and if I pull a grade during the regen cycle EGT will get quite high.

I doubt you have anything to worry about.
