as you can see in my signature I run a #11 plate with stock injectors and 21cm housing, any other sugestion to help keep egt down pulling. I can only run about 65 mph pulling on the interstate.

Just wondering, why are you running that large of a exhaust housing. From what I understand running that large of a housing causes extreme lag. If your not making boost and you're just burning fuel, you will run hot.

Did you run that hot before you changed your housing?

21 cm housing

It ran hotter with the 12 housing, it lags only slightly and still makes 36psi boost, I picked up 2 mpg with the big housing.

I thought about a 16 cm2 housing, but I had the 21 from an '89 engine. I am happy with the results so I kept the 21 on. I probably need An hx40 or bigger though to keep egt down when pulling.

Well, I could tone it down some and have been running these numbers for a while now, but I see about 39-40lbs. and 1300-1500* when flooring it onto the freeway. The EGTs vary depending on when I shift to fifth, but that is about what I see when I shift.

I could turn the boost down some to get it back in the efficency range but I have messed with the wastegate rod and my elbow but nothing seemed to change it. I was real stumped as to why it never changed much, I even removed the boost elbow and ran just a 1/8" NPT barbed fitting with 1/4" tubing over to the wastegate and it still didn't change it. The wastegate isn't stuck or anything, it seems to operate fine I just can't get anything lower than 39-40, so I just left it alone. I am going to some 370s or something more efficent but same amount of fuel and a B1 soon, so maybe when the 35 is off the engine then I can inspect the turbine more closely for any reasons as to why it wouldn't change much.

I see you have your plate all the way forward. Maybe try sliding it back a bit. My experience has been that towing with the plate forward produces too high EGT's for my set up.

I agree with sliding the plate back. Try moving it a little at a time like . 030". You shouldn't loose too much HP with small adjustments - just loose some EGT's

could it be that the reason you cant reach over 40 psi be because your engine isnt fueling enough to get there. what are you running fuel wise?

It is definately fueling enough, I have the 215 pump with a #10 full forward, I just can't get the boost below 39-40 psi to get the pressure back in the 35's max efficency range of 35 psi. I won't be going over 40 psi and pumping cool, compressed air until I get my B1 and 370s this July.
