Wondering why my EGTs are still extremly high. Put bigger turbo on along with afe mega cannon and I can still peg the needle on the gauge whenm I floor it. any ideas? when you go down the highway at 70-75 they are aroung 800. everyone said a bigger turbo would solve this problem.

I was running pretty close to your set up,only I had a EEP cam. I could peg the pyro by 100mph. Those BD 5s throw some fuel/smoke. I'm guessing you have the usb/wsb turbo. Thats about the equal of a kwik-spool B-1, a plain old B-1 would would lower EGTs and make more power. With those shower nozzles your running spool up should be fine.







I would check for boost leaks, I was running bd 3s that would smoke like bd 8s I checked everything, and I mean everything, no boost leaks, I was dynoing right at 450 hp but the smoke was heavy. One night by accident found a crack in my Banks hi-ram intake on the back side. It had been there for a while.
 
Hi my 002 6spd is always heavily loaded an its height of 11ft4in pushs a wall of air I had big egt probs. I did the straight pipe thing the bhaf with shield. still high egts!!! this is an otherwise stock truck. Mark Chapple at T. S. T. told me to put on a HX40 turbo . It works !!!! I may have to get out of it a little on the big grades but nothing serious, going west on I-70 out of Denver 5th does it nicely. I just am surprised that they allow a stock truck to crank such high egts. originally had a HX35 turbo should have been HX40 out of the box. once saw 15 1600 passing a couple of rv,s between Vegas an Pahrump that was my wakeup call.

How High is "Peg the needle" ???? Highway for me is 650-800 as well. If I am on Cropduster mode I can still get to 1670-80 but the edm's are too big for my pdr to match so yeah she gets hot anyways. But with the box on say 40% (Faster at that setting than drag mode) which equates to a 3X3 and cruizin normal I still can maintain 6-800 egt. Mashed in that mode with boost chasing me I can see 1500.







As for Jarhead, I am supprised the needle hasn't busted off when pegged and stabbed you in the ear whilst going over the CT border @ a buck 10

I would try a different turbo. I did not have good luck with the USB. High egt. Towing, out of the question. Try a B1 or a PDR40 or a Dodgezilla 40. If they don't work send them back untill you find the one that works for you.

Ever dynoed the truck? My truck makes 511hp/1052 tq and I can only get it to 1500* before it hits the governor at 117mph.



That's with the Jammer 3's, UFM Drag box and a Jammer turbo.

When my 01 6spd was stock, I tried hard to get it past 1300 and that was pulling more weight than I should have been and couldn't get it to touch 1300. For a stock truck you shouldn't have egt problems. I've got dd2's and a comp with a scotty and 4" exhaust and stock hx35 and don't have any egt problems with the box turned down or off. I only see high egts with the box on the higher settings. I'd check your pyro to see if it could be reading high.
