I am leaning towards a Stage 3 hybrid from HTT. I will probably do it when I get around to getting some bigger injectors, but I'm pretty happy with the way I have it set up now. The price on the hybrid is good and I can keep my wastegated 14cm housing which I like. If I went to a HX40, I would have to get a different exhaust brake which is more money I don't want to spend right now. A lot of guys run a 16cm housing to get their temps down, they are available for about $150 I think.

JKaltenheuser,

Your restriction is in the intake & exhaust. If you free up the air coming in [BHAF], then remove the cat you will flow much more air. Don't drill holes in the box bottom! The cat can be replaced by a pipe or you can pound the stuffing out & reinstall the hollowed out cat. The 16 cm housing will help as well.

But, I would definetly stop up at St Lucas, Iowa to talk [563-778-2719] to Dave Goerend about that trans. If you build more power in that truck, like the rest of us, you will feel that trans start to slip. Save for the triple disc converter & valve body, then do any of the motor work you want to. Like sliding the plate up for a start. Then when you need more you can grind your plate for more power not buy one.

Welcome to need for speed!!!!!

I did free up my exhaust by putting a 4" straight pipe from the turbo all the way back to the tailpipe and it sounds beautiful. For the intake I bought the AFE Pro-Guard 7 air filter from PDR. As far as the turbo goes I talked to harry at PDR and we decided I should go with a 14 cm housing because i didn't want the turbo lag you would get with a 16 cm housing. I also put a PDR quick spool HX-35 turbo to bring temps. down. The truck has 224,000 miles on it so if the transmission goes it's no big deal and i will buy a new beefed up transmission all together from ATS or somewhere like that but thanks for your concern.
