High idle adjustment on new 6.7

A wrecker company here in Oklahoma is ordering a 07 1 ton to convert (not a cab/chassis ?) They are waiting until a Smarty is made to control Idle adjustment. Can the dealer set the cruise to control the idle speed on the new models?

They are looking for a way to keep the rpm's up while the run the winch without having to have someone sit inside the cab and keep thier foot on the accelarator. anyone have any help to offer on this subject? thanks, Brian

If you are wanting to run a PTO operated winch, then you should tell them to get the CC model with the Aisin transmission. The 68RFE doesn't have PTO capability yet, and may never have it.



The dealer can turn on the high idle feature of the cruise if it's not on already. That will allow the driver to control the RPM. There may be another option for controlling the RPM that I am not aware of on the CC model vehicles.

The Dealer that they are dealing with here told them that option (the high idle with the cruise control) is not available on the 6. 7 only on the 5. 9 ?? I have not heard anything about this on here yet and didn't know if it was true or not. I have see some post here dealing with the 5. 9's but did not mention or include/exclude the 6. 7.

they were told that as of now that the Smarty is not available yet and will be approx. 3 months before it is released. So they are looking at other options to deal with this before they order the new truck.

My dealer said they could do it. I'm going to get it done the first time I have to take it in for any kind of service that I can't do myself.

There is a idle control option for the C&C but D/C is not offering it at this time. I wanted it for my truck I ordered but was warned not to because it is not available yet and it would hold up my order. I pick up my new C&C 4X4 in 1 week and hope it is just a software issue and can get it at a latter time. I didn't see it in the non C&C brochure!
