Greetings,

This is my first post.

2002 2500 ISB auto, stock.

Just replaced lift pump (bought at local cummins parts distributor, based on enngine serial number).

Followed excellent instructions from Robert Patton (issue 48, page 100).

Installed new fuel filter as well. 7 micron stratopore.

Bumped the starter (maybe 10 times) Heard the LP cycle each time.

Engine starts, the trouble is that it stays pegged at 2,000 RPMs... .

need help.

Did I mash something while shoulder-deep in the engine bay?

Is this normal? Doesn't seem to want to return to the normal idle.

Thank you in advance.

I would keep the cable from the throttle pedal to the Apps. Maybe you pulled the outting end out of the bracket or something. It goes right by the area that you were working in. SNOKING

Snoking, you nailed it.
I must have pulled the throttle out of the housing when I was fighting those seal washers.

I was beginning to sweat and the sun just went down... .
THANK YOU.
