I have the adjustable pedals, before i run out and order this switch, does anybody know if its different for the adjustable pedals?

I've got them to... IMHO it's the same part number.

Word of warning about getting the Cummins switch though. The local dealer that was doing the TSB for the battery temp code ended up trying to tell me that they couldn't reenable the high idle on my truck because "that was an aftermarket part". I had to find this thread and give them the Mopar part number before they would believe me! Genuine Mopar does equal more money but it also means no warranty type issues... .

I just called the dealer, told him what I wanted and he was not sure what I was talking about. I gave him the part number and told him I want one for adjustable pedels. He looked and looked, then said It only list one, so I think it will fit.

In other words, I still don't really know the answer. I would hate to buy it, find out its wrong and be stuck with it.

Great, I call Cummins to order it, they don't even have any at the factory! He said I could order it "equipment down, not running" for $13. 00 additional and my order would get filled first, when the factory gets them.

Oh well, maybe I will talk to someone at the dealership and see if I can get an ECM pin.

I'm going to try this sometime this week.

Curious tho, doesn't the truck know if you have the parking break set via the ECU? Next time the truck goes into it's own automated high idle I'll just un-do the parking break and see if it idles back down to 750rpm. or just not "set" the parking break. .

I figure this should be enough to get thing's "tripped". Maybe apply my own switch there on the parking break.

Now, when they say "ground". just bolt that tire right to anything metal and call it done huh? no resistors or anything?

Has anybody tried Statelines method on a 06? It works great on my 05,but I will be getting my 06 in a month and would like to know if it will work on it?

Interesting to say the least. You would have to put this on a switch of sorts, like a toggle switch that you flip manually, wouldn't you? If it was grounded all the time then it would "high idle" all the time won't it? Or is the PCM set up to only "high idle" when cold?

Does anybody have a source for ECM pins? I only need one. You could PM me if you want. I tried dealer, they want to sell me a wire harness. they say they don't have any old harness around I could pull a pin out of.

Sorry to drag on this post, but I got more information.

The switch 4089851 is still "out of stock" at Cummins.

So, that nice man at Cummins faxed me a picture of the contents of the "engine wiring repair kit" (those Cummins guys sure are nice, and they really want to help you :D )

The 50 pin Engine connector is made by Deutsch, so it looks like these are the correct pins.

3822920 Male for #16 and #18 wires - $3. 29

3823921 Female for #16 wire - $4. 13

3824810 Female for #20 wire - (never asked)

I think you need Female, but not 100% sure.

Of course all this information is "it looks like it will fit" until I see them :)
