Hello all, this is my first post but i have been a dodge fan for a long time. Anyway i am trying to install a ajustable high idle controller and i cant find a manual anywere, were is the TPS located, i have a 2001,6 sp. Thanks alot guys.
the tps is bolted to the front of the intake manifold , just ahead of the air horn on drivers side of the engine , its held on with 3 bolts , has the throttle , cruise control and TC cable ( if auto equipped) going into it , with a big black plastic cover . unbolt it he cable goes in on the bottom , there is also a wire loom holder that snaps in half that you need to pop open to unplug the cable , disconnect the cable , connect thr hi idler , connect the tps cable to hig idler cable and bolt it back on ... done .
just noticed on www.dodgeram.org there is a tsb 18-019-01 "cold idle engine warming" that appears to be the same as these after market products. it is a pcm re-program. has anyone had this performed yet or does anyone know anything about this. i am thinking of having this flashed.
No I would not consider it the same. The "cold idle" will only work if certain conditions are met, namely below 32° and coolant temp under 140°. With the after market idlers you can have the idle higher on demand and upto 1500rpm.
While the new software is a great step forward, its still not as versitale as having an adjustable high idler.
