The cummins in White Bear lake Minnesota, programs the 5. 9s that are in the FedEx trucks. The FedEx shop removes the ECM and take them in . I was in the service dept at cummins when the FedEx tech drop three off for programing, FedEx tech said they have the computers to program. but it for warranty reasons they bring them to cummins.

If we had an auto we could get it for free

Robert , you can"t get ramp with the stock program with a remote. I really don"t see why DC has such a problem with the ramp idle with the 6 speed . All medium to heavy equipment have manuals with ramp and you don"t here any safety issues with them.

AUTO SHUTDOWN

04 and up have a cummins program and allows cummins to have the ability to program ,PTO,SPEED-LIMITER, AUTO SHUTDOWN, RAMP. And much more.

Is this the same as a cool down timer?

Is this statement suggesting that a cool down timer is already part of the ECM?

jr, this is actually for warm up or for extended idling. on the autos when activated you can have the truck in park and emergency brake on and then turn the cruise on and press set and the idle will ramp up to about 1100 rpm.

Thanks Gary for the response. My question had to do with twest's mention of 'AUTO SHUTDOWN' being available. I understand about the high idle.
