Can you tell when it is working? I had mine flashed this summer and its been below freezing here and I still have not noticed any change in the idle speed or sound. 1 person told me you would not notice it but I can't imagine that.

if it gets to the 3 cyl mode ,has to be pretty cold ,you WILL know it... truck should idle up to 1200 rpm then hit the 3 cylinder mode

Hey Marcel, did you have to completely re-flash your ECM or just turn on the 3-cyl high idle. I'd like to get mine up and running.

i believe the dealer just had to enable it,man does it sound like its going to come apart when it hits :--) you can here it from INSIDE

MERRY CHRISTMAS

My neighbours are gonna love the extra noise :-laf :-laf . My neighbour a cuople houses down has a 2004 HPCR and this morning you could barely hear it. Man they are quiet

Merry christmas to you too!

When I had my '99, the high idle did not kick in unless the outside ambient temp was below 28. If I recall correctly, the 3 cyl. feature did not kick in unless outside ambient temp was below 15. Like the others said, you will know when the 3 cylinders shut down. You would swear the engine is going to fly through the hood :-laf

The high idle and 3 cylinder temps that Paul posted are about right on. They can very a few degrees depending on how long of a cold soak you give it. If you plug your truck, the high idle and 3 cylinder won't work unless it is sub zero. The 3 cylinder sounds like a jack hammer is running under the hood, but it warms the motor as advertised.

It is a neat feature. What's really funny is when someone's truck starts to do it and they don't know its supposed to. :-laf

I saw 3 different people at Tellico with 24 valves and their trucks had been sitting for about 3 days without being touched right around 5*F when they started their trucks.

Their faces reminded me of... me when I was younger and would break something, just to get caught as I was trying to hide it.

heheh... that's fun
