Thanks for all the helpful replies. I payed dealer $145 to try to do this, but they were unable. I thought if the dealer couldn't do this then it probably couldn't be done, but it would now seem as if I was dealing with a dealership that didn't have the experience or knowledge to perform said task. I suppose I could call them, but I would rather find somebody that understood what was asked of them or find somebody in the area with Smarty as also suggested.

I've read somewhere, (can't seem to find it now though) that all CR trucks have the PTO high idle function capability. Maybe it was smartys web site... I'll look more when I get a chance.

I put a call into dealership, they may try again based on knowing more information than before. In looking at receipt I see the following service writer, technician disparity. I guess I should not have assumed they knew what was being asked of them.

No, it works on 04's also if the ECM is in the correct range and it has the correct flash level on it. Manual trucks are easier because they are all speed control not CC and the type of CC was the real issue. IIRC, with the oval CC buttons it will never work seamlessly thru the ECM, the square buttons should work if it has been activated, turned on and the correct ECM\flash level is there. Every truck delivered after Dec 10 2003 had the software in it to do the idle up feature so it wasn't just 325 engines. Getting the correct ECM number, flash level, the sequence of activated and on, and with the manual the ground wire was the problem. It is entirely possible that function is bad in the ECU also, a 13 year old truck can have all manner of things not working in the ECM while not impacting its primary functions.

My 04 is Man date 10/03. It has ground wire installed as well as smjr. I have up on getting it to function on my NV5600.

I have enabled the high idle cruise function with my smjr on several auto 03 and 04 trucks with no issue. Install smjr then remove and function enabled.......I sure would love to have it..

Lot more to it than just installing a Smarty, can't turn on something that is not there or activated. I can testify it works on at least an 11/03 build with all the correct pieces, it is a 2 step process with a DRBIII or it won't work. The last step if all else fails is replace the ECM with the correct version number.

FWIW, dealer refuses to do the programming on a manual based on liability. They even called Chrysler. Wish they knew about the legal consequences before they charged me $145 per previous post...

Yep, what I ran into. Unless they install the $350 clutch cut out switch they won't touch it on the record. Need to find someone to do it on the down low after hours. Even that may be hard as the newer tools have removed a lot of functionality. At some point I am going to have to resort to buying a DRB III out of sheer desperation.

AFAIK, only the DRB III has all the capability for the ECM and BCM controls. What exactly a Solus can and cannot do is unknown, do not have one to play with so can't really say for sure.
