just went and had mine enabled -guy said he flashed ecm-i told him it was already in there but just blew me off----so we are leavin a meeting tonight --start truck ---no high idle---waited bout a minute??do i need to wait longer

asked the tech if there were any codes in there--said NOPE----i had 4 but two are gone-the 0216 will be back

I LOVE going to the dealer

cost $54

Dealer did mine for free. TSB 18-019-01. The first time the guy didnt know it had to be turned on. Theys reflashed to fix code 1689 before x-mas and this tech never heard of it. Told him what it was,he looked and turned it on. Superchip tuner turned it off on me,went to different dealer and he never heard of it either. Held his hand and he turned it back on. Sorry this is so long winded but the point is most DC techs cant find there rectum from a hole in the ground. Go back to the guy. The feature is under Engine,Misc,3cylinder idle. Mine takes more than a minute to ramp up. Wait till you hear the racket when it starts shutting down cylinders!!

whats required temp----spose to be-5 tonight ?????if that dont do it----back to the dealer:rolleyes:

ez on it -that matter

32 degrees for the high idle. Ithink it's 15 degrees for the 3 cylinder part. My truck also takes about 1 minute before it starts to ramp up. Don't plug your truck in or it won't work! And no the EZ doesn't matter!

You also cannot tiuch the accelerator pedal or put the truck in gear. It only ramps up if ALL conditions are met.

The parameters are:

Once enabled, idle speed will slowly ramp up from 800 rpm to 1200 rpm when all of the following conditions are met:

1. Intake Manifold Temperature less than 0°C (32°F) and,

2. Coolant Temp is less than 60°C (140°F) and,

3. The Transmission is in Neutral or Park and,

4. The Service Brake pedal is not depressed and,

5. Throttle = 0% and,

6. Vehicle Speed = 0 mph

Additionally, if Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) is less than -9°C (15°F), and all of the parameters above are met, three of the cylinders will be shut off upon reaching 1200 rpm, creating a slight change in engine sound which is normal. This allows the engine to create increased heat in the cooling system, allowing more rapid engine warm up and cab heating.

Both features will automatically disable when one of the following occurs:

1. The Automatic Transmission is placed in gear (forward or reverse) or,

2. The Service Brake pedal is depressed or,

3. Throttle position is greater than 0% or,

4. Vehicle Speed is greater than 0 mph or,

5. Coolant Temperature is greater than 79°C (175°F).

I don`t know about the rest of you all, but my high idle works with the truck plugged up all night. 22* outside last night. went out this morning , fired her up -one minute or so up she goes. that`s my storyand i`m stickin to it!:D
